Commission is taken from the company side, not the developer.
Andela (andela.com) The original "African remote developer" platform. Andela has evolved from a bootcamp into a talent marketplace. If you pass their vetting (which is rigorous), you get access to a strong pipeline of opportunities. Andela handles contracts, payments, and benefits. They are particularly strong for mid-to-senior developers with 3+ years of experience.

Wise (formerly TransferWise). Recommended.
Wise is the gold standard for receiving international payments in Africa. You get a virtual USD, EUR, or GBP bank account that clients can pay into directly, and Wise converts and sends the funds to your local bank account at the mid-market exchange rate with a transparent fee (typically 0.5-1.5%). Payoneer. Good alternative.

Direct bank transfer (SWIFT)
Some employers will pay directly to your local bank account via SWIFT transfer.
