AI agent development for African businesses, built like software

We build agents that do a defined job inside your systems: read a receipt, draft a reply, review a pull request. Each one has a fixed output format and a fallback when the model is wrong.

What an agent does for us, and could do for you

  • Read paper. A photo of a till receipt becomes line items, a total and a KRA check.
  • Write and route. A customer question gets a drafted reply, or goes to the right person.
  • Review work. A student's code gets automated feedback before a mentor looks at it.
  • Generate content. A brief becomes a set of social carousels.

Each of these runs in a product we operate today, described below.

How we keep an agent from guessing

An agent that sounds confident and is wrong is worse than no agent. So we treat prompts as engineering.

  • Structured outputs, so the next step in your system receives fields, not paragraphs.
  • Cached prompts, so repeated work stays quick and cheaper to run.
  • Fallback chains, so a failed call retries or hands over to a person.
  • A human check wherever a mistake would cost money.

Running costs are part of the design too. See the cost of running AI features for how we think about it.

Agents already running

  • Kadi: AI-generated social carousels, powered by the Claude API. A private build, no public site yet.
  • Company OS: CRM, finance and expenses for small teams, with receipt OCR and KRA validation.
  • Mctaba LMS: a learning platform with automated code reviews and real-time feedback.

What affects the cost

The job you hand over, how clean your data is, how many systems the agent must read or write, and how much human checking you want are what shape the quote. Model usage fees are paid to the provider and grow with volume.

We quote after a scoping call. Not sure which job to start with? Read the AI agent jobs a small business can hand over. A working v1 arrives in the first week, with weekly demos.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI agent, in plain terms?
A piece of software that uses a language model to do a defined job, such as reading a receipt or drafting a reply, and passes the result to the rest of your system.
Which model do you build on?
Our products use the Claude API. We choose the model for each job on the scoping call, based on accuracy, speed and running cost.
How do you stop the agent giving wrong answers?
Structured outputs, validation against rules such as KRA checks, fallback chains and a human review step wherever an error would be costly.
Can an agent work with our existing software?
Yes. We build it behind an API so it can read from and write to the systems you already use.
How much does an AI agent cost to build and run?
It depends on the job, the data and the volume. We quote the build after a free scoping call, and we explain the running cost with it.
